Buff-breasted Paradise-Kingfishers fly down from New Guinea in late November - early December to breed and raise their young. We are constantly serenaded by their call as we search the rainforest for birds, and mocked by their call as they refuse to come out into the open and be photographed.

Eventually one Buff-breasted Paradise-Kingfisher relented and put on a wonderful show for this poor, frustrated photographer who showed his gratitude by taking far too many photographs.
